Black Men In America.com is one of the hottest web sites on the Internet.   We are 100% black owned and feature ordinary men and women, living extraordinary lives.

We believe in diverse views and opinions and post content to reflect that.  We have visitors from over 92 countries from around the world.  We are proud of that.  One of our goals is to be inclusive.  Don't let the name of the site fool you.  Our goal is to unite and focus on issues that we believe are unique to black men and in many cases black people.  Many of the things we get involved with are relevant to all people.  That's a good thing.

Approximately 45% of our site visitors are women.  We offer our visitors a forum to exchange information on a variety of subjects and issues.

According to Alexa Internet, the premier Internet ranking service and Ranking.com, Black Men In America.com is consistently ranked as one of the Top 10 most popular web sites (online community) on the Internet in the Ethnic/African/African-American category.  As of March 2008 site users were up 87% from the last quarter.  The site has a “reach” of approximately 20-30 million users per day and gets just under 3 million hits per month and growing.

There are several web sites aimed at Black men and their needs.  We were one of the first of its kind and remain active in the community.  We offer a variety of resources for men including commentary, current events, health & fitness and relationship advice and more.

We believe that education is one of the keys to success in life, along with good role models and mentors.  We are using the Internet to leverage our network of people and organizations to help us deliver seminars, workshops and mentoring programs to educate, train and prepare role models who will motivate and improve the circumstances of young people in our community.

I conceived the idea to build this web site on an airplane flying home to DC from Las Vegas the day of the Million Man March in October 1995.  I wanted Black Men In America to be a book.  After being rejected by publishers and told:  "We already have enough books about black men," I decided to turn to the Internet--the great equalizer.  For over 5 years, I wrote notes on my computer, napkins and scrap pieces of paper in an effort to remember every creative thought.  On January 22, 2001, Black Men In America.com was launched.  The site was developed, designed and funded with plenty of sweat equity and my credit card.

By the end of our first year, Black Men In America.com had exceeded my expectations and grew from a web site to more of an online news and entertainment magazine.  Many site visitors have anointed us the "premier online magazine for black men."  Our survey data reflects a broad mix of people with a target audience of adults between the ages of 25-54 years of age.  Among these folks are college and university students, Fortune 500 executives and visitors from all over the country.  As of May 2007, approximately 43% of our visitors are women.  Due to the eclectic content of our web site we consistently attract visitors from Switzerland, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Mexico, the UK, Germany, Canada, and various parts of Europe.

Black men are a diverse group.  We are in no way monolithic, and this site will showcase our differences with The Manhood Line featuring syndicated columnists Mike Ramey and our popular advice column Ask Snooky featuring America's favorite Taxi Cab Driver and Advice Columnist "Snooky" the cab driver.    The Founder's Forum is full of commentary and information on the hot topics of the day.  Our Money Talk column features finance professionals who share advice about wealth building, debt reduction and other related matters.  Our Money Links section has something for the beginning investor to the sophisticated financier.

For our readers who have an eye for talent and beauty, we have two modeling link sections.  Modeling Links and More Models featuring some of the most beautiful and ambitious women of color on the Internet.  You can access this page via our Gentlemen's Lounge.

Our Black Links page has one of the largest collections of "black oriented" web sites on the Internet with information on black history, culture, sports, health & fitness, money & investing and entertainment.  We also have a comprehensive list of Latin Links for our Latin and Hispanic brothers and sisters.  Our Sports Links page has the latest sports news of the day as well as a list of comprehensive list of sports related links.

For our loyal female visitors we have added the sections "Of Interest To Women" and "Women Sound Off."  In addition, hot new talent and authors such as Diane Sears, and LaDawn Black contribute to our site.  We also have a Health and Fitness section called  Get In Shape featuring articles from Melanie Marchand from Sisters In Shape.

If you're a new visitor to this site, take your time and become familiar with the content.  We're just getting started and the word is slowly getting out about us.  Give us a month or two before you make up your mind.

We have an online store (Click here to go there now).  You can also help support this web site and our effort to give back to those in our community who are less fortunate by clicking here to donate money via Amazon.com's secure transaction system.  We give back to the community whether you donate funds or not.  The more money and support that we have, the more we can do to help others.  So instead of spending that money on two CD's, consider getting one CD this week and donate the remaining money to us and know that your donation will help others who are less fortunate at this time.

If you're a frequent visitor, please continue to support the site and tell your friends to visit.  Thank you for your interest in Black Men In America.com.
